Heather,

I'm assuming this was a very large fibroid (your uterus already enlarged before pregnancy because of it) and that's why you went into labor early. If that's the case, talk to your gynecologist about a myomectomy (surgery to remove the fibroid). If you have one small fibroid I doubt (though I'm not a doctor) that you would go into labor early. If that's the case, I would talk to your doctor to clarify.
