Amoxicillin is ok as long as prescribed by your doc, if it wasnt they wouldnt give it to you. I had an upper respiratory infection and was given amoxicillin while pregnant and all was fine. It is best to treat this before it gets too bad. You could have bigger problems if the infection travels to the kidneys.
