[Birth Control] Missing Pills, and then taking pills late

A little more than a week ago, I missed one Ortho Tricyclin pill from the first week. The next day I doubled up, taking 2 pills at my normal time. The day after that, I took the next pill a little late (about 40 minutes).

I have heard that missing only one pill in a cycle has a minimal, if any at all, effect on the pill's effectivenes. Similarly, I have heard that taking the pill only an hour late (or 40 minutes late in my case) also means nothing.

However, is doing these two things in combination harmful? Am I as unprotected as if I missed two pills completely this cycle? I had unprotected sex 5 days after missing the first pill (three days after taking the second pill a little late). How much risk am I at?
