i had surgery in 2001 to remove a teratoma from the area around my right ovary. it was not an easy recovery--i had a huge hematoma that soon had to be reopened and packed for quite awhile post-op. i just had my first gyn visit since, and i mentioned to my dr. that i had some pain during intercourse. after examining me, he said i had pelvic adhesions and that my uterus was tilted to the right as was my cervix and that this would cause my discomfort. after reading on the net about adhesions, i am now very worried that i may not be able to have children, and that i will have to live with painful intercourse for the rest of my life. does anyone have any good suggestions as to how to find an experienced surgeon--ob-gyn or other , whatever is needed, to have evaluate my situation? i am terrified that if the wrong person tries to correct it , it could become worse the next time around...thanks for your time.
