Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: where to have colposcopy" My pap test came back positive and I need to have colposcopy done. My question is whether to go back to my usual local mediocre (but nice and supportive) old lady gynecologist who originaly performed pap test or to go to a world famous surgical endoscopy specialist in NY who happens to be friend of my husband. His clinic does offer all kinds of endoscopic examination including colposcopy, but he is not a gynecologist. Another point is that, to be honest with you, I feel kind of embarrassed to have a personal male aquointance look at me though I know going to him would probably be a smarter idea.
