granulation tissue and cyclic bleedingFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 6 Dec 1999 09:17:50 -0600 (CST)
Hi! I had a TAH (ovaries left in) in 1986 so this question is mainly out of curiosity. The posts about granulation tissue following hysterectomy interested me. I can't remember if it was immediately after the TAH, or occurred some months later, which I realize would make a difference in the answer to this question but here goes. I had cyclic vaginal bleeding which consisted only of a light brownish discharge the same time every month for a few months. During the rest of the month there was nothing like this. I went to my gyn and after examining me he told me I had granulation tissue, cauterized it and I never had the problem again. Could granulation tissue bleed cyclically? I wondered about endometriosis in the incision. I just recently had reason to ask about my records from this time period and the nurse read that he had written I had a strawberry lesion in the incision area. Is this the way you would describe granulation tissue? Thank you. Chris S.
