> you are not lactating? Yes, it is definitely possible to have mastitis without pain or fever (localized or generalized) which occurs while not lactating. I am not a doctor, but, I know that this possible since I had my first bout of mastitis when I was about 16 and was neither pregnant nor lactating and I had neither pain nor fever with that bout of mastitis. I well remember being concerned about the green discharge from that breast. This should go away with antibiotics very nicely if the doctor is right about it being mastitis. Like I said, this is just what I know from personal experience and is not to be taken as a medical opinion. Hope your daughter gets better soon.
